What is IPS?
Our Individual Placement and Support Employment Teams, based in our services in Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire, West Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and Bristol, work alongside people accessing our drug and alcohol support services to find employment.
Getting back into employment can be a vital part of a recovery journey, helping people to find structure, purpose, confidence and build financial independence.
The service we offer includes tailoring support to each individual, which can include building CVs and honing interview skills, identifying a person’s transferable skills considering any previous experience, and growing their confidence to re-enter the world of employment.
The team also work closely with loyal employers to offer advice and encouragement throughout the employment process, carefully matching candidates to roles and offering ongoing support throughout the early stages of their employment.
The IPS model
IPS is a national, evidence-based employment service designed to help people accessing health services to find work to aid their recovery.
It offers intensive, individually tailored support to help people to choose and find the right job, with ongoing support for the employer and employee to help ensure the person thrives in their new role.
The IPS model has a proven track record of supporting over 50% of people into employment, compared to statistically lower success rates with other employment support schemes.
Information for Employers
The people we work with come from all walks of life; teachers, trades, managers, creatives and more. Each individual brings their unique strengths and experiences, ready to contribute meaningfully to your business.
Employment provides structure, purpose, and a renewed sense of worth for people in recovery. When local businesses get involved, we create a local area where everyone has the chance to grow, succeed and contribute.
As a local IPS Employment Specialist, your contact will be on hand to guide you and the candidate through the interview process. If offered a position, they’ll provide a further four months of support, helping your new employee – and the business – to thrive.
