Who We Are

Turning Point Leicestershire & Rutland is a substance use service, here to meet the needs of the local people and offer support for drug and alcohol use.

We work with anyone who is affected by drugs or alcohol and wants support to make changes. We offer a variety of treatment options and will support you to find the right treatment for you. Regardless of your age, we have a service which will meet your needs. For young people up to 24, the dedicated young people’s team will work with you in any location that is suitable.

In 2019, as part of the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland service, we were inspected and rated as Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission.

How We Support You

What We Offer

One of our team will support you to build a treatment plan based on your circumstances. To get the best of our treatment options you will need to commit to attending the sessions.

Online Support

Our online tool My Turning Point provides 24/7 access to a range of guided and self-help sessions that can help with your drug and alcohol use, as well as emotional heath and other wellbeing subjects. Accessible on computers, tablet and some smartphones.

Opiate Substitute Prescribing

To establish whether this is appropriate for you, you will have a comprehensive clinical assessment with our team of doctors, nurses, and pharmacists.

For those dependent on opiate drugs such as heroin we offer prescribing of methadone or buprenorphine. Clinical interventions sit alongside a programme of talking therapies and recovery support to help you make lasting changes.

Reduce the Harm of Drugs and Alcohol

Alcohol & Wellbeing

Designed to help you understand more about your drinking and how to cut down or stop. We offer two programmes depending on your drinking levels and can support access to inpatient or community detox if you need clinical support to help you reduce your drinking.

Reclaim

Reclaim is designed to support people who are using drugs and are considering making changes in their use. It can help you develop skills and commitment to making positive changes to your drug use.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is about learning to live in the present, rather than in the past or an imagined future. Being mindful can increase awareness of your emotions and can support you to manage cravings, which makes slips and lapses less likely.

Support for All Ages & Families

Young People's Service

Our dedicated Young People’s team works with all under 18s and those aged up to 25 where required.  Delivering services wherever suits you our young people’s team can help you find out the facts about drugs and alcohol and make changes where you want to.  We also support young people affected by someone else’s substance use.

Family & Friends Support

We know caring for someone with drug or alcohol issues can take its toll.  That’s why our dedicated Family Recovery Worker offers support to family and friends in their own right. The individual with a drug or alcohol problem doesn’t need to be in treatment for you to be eligible for your own support.

Last Orders Project

Working with our partners Age UK the Last Orders Project helps those over 50 to learn more about their drinking and how it affects their life and make positive changes.

Preventing Overdose

To help reduce drug-related deaths we provide free overdose response Naloxone kits to people at risk of an opioid overdose, their family and friends, and members of the public who could help prevent an overdose.

Naloxone is a medication that can quickly reverse the effects of an opioid overdose, including those related to heroin, methadone, morphine, buprenorphine, codeine and synthetic opioids, like nitazenes and fentanyl. Order yourself a kit through our Naloxone Click & Deliver service and help save lives.
