Turning Point Launches Ketamine Harm Reduction Campaign

Turning Point is launching 'Know Your K' a national harm reduction campaign designed to give practical, non judgemental information to help people who use ketamine to stay safe.

Ketamine use is rising across the UK, especially among teenagers and young adults. At the same time, we’re seeing more people experiencing bladder and kidney damage, rapid tolerance, dependency, and mental health impacts.

This campaign supports early intervention by helping people understand the risks, spot early warning signs, and seek help sooner.

What the campaign covers

Rooted in Turning Point’s harm reduction approach, the campaign focuses on four core messages:

1. Know the effects of ketamine

Young people told us they want honest, accessible facts - free from scare tactics. Knowing how ketamine affects the body and mind, helps people make safer decisions.

2. Set, setting, sitter

Because ketamine affects judgement and awareness, planning ahead and staying with trusted friends reduces risk, especially avoiding using alone.

3. Reducing harm

We provide share clear, current information and reliable harm reduction advice to help keep people informed and safe.

4. Bladder health and early intervention

Bladder injury is one of the fastest rising harms linked to ketamine use. Early symptoms including pain when urinating, increased urgency, and stomach cramps, should never be ignored. Seeking medical advice early can prevent long term issues.

Created with frontline insight

The campaign has been shaped by Turning Point’s clinical teams, harm reduction specialists, lived experience experts, and national YouGov data, which shows that young adults often underestimate risk and overestimate how common ketamine use is among their peers.

This reinforces why honest, calm and factual information matters.
