New and Improved Substance Information Cards Now Available

We're proud to launch our newly updated Substance Information Cards – a free harm reduction resource designed to give people clear, honest and trusted information about drugs and alcohol.

We've expanded the range to cover 16 different substances and alcohol, and the cards are now available in six languages, making them accessible to even more people who want reliable information to help them stay safer.

A harm reduction tool for everyone

Whether you're using substances yourself, supporting someone who is, working in health and social care, or simply looking for accurate information, these cards are designed to help.

Each card provides straightforward, non-judgemental information about:

  • What the substance is
  • How it may make someone feel
  • Potential risks and effects
  • Practical harm reduction advice to reduce the risk of harm

The aim is simple: to help people make informed decisions and stay as safe as possible.

Developed by experts and people with lived experience

The cards have been created and updated by our specialist substance use teams alongside people with lived experience. By combining professional expertise with real-world insight, we've developed resources that are relevant, current and easy to understand.

This approach ensures the information is not only evidence-based but also honest, practical and grounded in the realities of substance use.

Free to download and share

All of the substance information cards are available free of charge and can be downloaded, viewed or shared by anyone. Printed copies are also available through our services and hubs.

Whether you're a professional looking for a useful resource, a family member seeking information, or someone wanting to better understand the risks associated with different substances, these cards are here to help.
