As part of your mental health recovery with us, we can support you to feel able to take on the responsibility of getting and keeping a meaningful job.
We can provide practical information and guidance to both find and apply for roles, along with writing applications and practicing interviews so that you can feel more confident.
Getting ready for employment
How can you help me to feel emotionally prepared for work?
If it feels overwhelming, understanding what techniques you can use to feel in the best state of mind to work can be very useful. Talking therapies including counselling and cognitive behavioural therapies (CBT), can help you to transform your thoughts and feelings to be more balanced.
Can you help me to explain to my employer what I need?
We can support you to have a conversation with your employers about what "reasonable adjustments" can be made to give you the best chance for ongoing success returning to work such as a phased return or other practical measures.
Making a valued contribution
There is significant personal, community, and wider societal value in people having the opportunity to feel they are contributing by working, and so support is available for people who want to work but find that their mental health makes it difficult for them to do so. By learning the skills and developing the tools they need to speak clearly about what they need from their employer and to manage their mental health on an ongoing basis, people can stay in work or return to employment with confidence.
