If someone close to you is struggling with alcohol or other drugs, it can be a distressing and difficult time.
You might be worrying about their health, the debts that they owe, or whether they will ever be able to accept the help you are offering them. It can be easy to focus all your energy and efforts into looking for support for them. However, by looking after your own health and wellbeing, you can become an effective part of their recovery journey.
Dedicated online support for friends and family
We’ve created a short, free, and confidential online programme which will help you in understanding the issues being faced and provide you with some exercises to help you respond in a way that best suits the situation.
The programme will take you through five key steps which will;
- Help you increase your knowledge and understanding of their issues
- Present different ways of responding to behaviours so you feel more equipped to deal with your circumstances
- Signpost you to other help and support
- Provide exercises and resources to help increase your resilience
