Who We Are
Slough Treatment, Advice and Recovery Team (START) is free and confidential, available for anyone who is concerned about their own or someone else’s substance use.
Slough Community Hub (CHUB) offers a drop-in, one stop service to support with many aspects of your life, to aid your recovery from addiction. Based in the centre of your local community, we're open from 7am to 8pm, Monday to Friday.
Whether you need intensive support or just some brief advice, we will support you to make the changes you want to make.
How We Support You
What We Offer
One of our team will support you to build a treatment plan based on your circumstances. To get the best of our treatment options you will need to commit to attending the sessions.
Our service also supports Young People in Slough, offering free, confidential, advice and information. We can meet you wherever works best for you. We have a confidential room in the Town Centre or we can meet you at school, home, or somewhere else you feel comfortable.
Online Support
Our online tool My Turning Point provides 24/7 access to a range of guided and self-help sessions that can help with your drug and alcohol use, as well as emotional heath and other wellbeing subjects. Accessible on computers, tablet and some smartphones.
Young People's Service
For children up to 21 years old who use either drugs or alcohol and need support, guidance or education. We also provide a What About Me (WAM) programme for those affected by parental use.
Change, Mindfulness and Reclaim
Introduction to Change
"It isn't that I can't see the solution. It is that I can't see the problem". "I want to stop feeling so stuck" This is the perfect place to start treatment and open your mind to the possibilities on offer building confidence and motivation.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness is about learning to live in the present, rather than in the past or an imagined future. Being mindful can increase awareness of your emotions and can support you to manage cravings, which makes slips and lapses less likely.
Reclaim
Designed to support people who are using non-opiate drugs and are considering making changes in their use. It can help you develop skills and commitment to making positive changes to your drug use.
Alcohol and Wellbeing
Designed to help you understand more about your drinking and how to cut down or stop. We offer two alcohol groups, your suitability will be depend on your drinking habits, both running for 8 weeks.
Dedicated support for alcohol use
Your Health
Our sessions will teach you new ways to manage your use as well as cutting down and quitting. We have a medical team who can provide treatment advice to complement and support your recovery.
Your Wellbeing
Our service supports you as a whole person helping you find the fun in life again with alternative activities, volunteering opportunities, the chance to meet new people and a safe space to talk. We can also support those you love which will aid your recovery and help them understand more and learn alongside you.
Your Future
Support is available to help with life skills, housing, education, employment, and hobbies.
Preventing Overdose
To help reduce drug-related deaths we provide free overdose response Naloxone kits to people at risk of an opioid overdose, their family and friends, and members of the public who could help prevent an overdose.
Naloxone is a medication that can quickly reverse the effects of an opioid overdose, including those related to heroin, methadone, morphine, buprenorphine, codeine and synthetic opioids, like nitazenes and fentanyl. Order yourself a kit through our Naloxone Click & Deliver service and help save lives.
