Who We Are

Turning Point will support you to make positive changes around drugs and alcohol.

As the oldest free of charge drug and alcohol support service in England, we've been supporting a diverse range of people across Central and West London communities for over 50 years. We support people who struggle with all kinds of dependence forming substances, including alcohol, heroin, cocaine, crack, cannabis and much more

Getting in touch with us is easy

The quickest way to get support is to drop into one of our hubs (see opening times & locations) or to give us a call on 020 8740 6815 anytime Monday -Friday 9am - 5pm. You can also fill in our online form and we should get back to you within one working day.

We'll arrange an initial assessment, which is a chance for you to meet us in person or over the phone. You can tell us about yourself and start thinking about what support you might like.

How We Support You

Support from people with lived experience

Many members of our team have lived experience of making positive changes around drug and alcohol use. Hearing and seeing positive stories of recovery has helped many of our clients.

“The support and kindness I've received has been life changing.” - Aaliyah, service user

Your first one-to-one session

You will be matched with a key worker, who you’ll build a relationship with on your journey to making positive changes. In your first session, we’ll do a wellbeing check-in and ensure you have a warm cup of tea. Together, we’ll explore what support might best suit you and what manageable goals we can set. Goals could range from stopping use to developing healthier habits and behaviours.

Ongoing support for you and the people you care about

Your key worker will offer you regular one-to-one sessions to work through your goals and to offer support and guidance to help you make positive changes. You may also:

  • - Start one of our recovery programmes to support you in things such as managing emotions, learning coping mechanisms, or being kinder to yourself.
  • - Connect to a safe community of others making positive changes, such as our LGBTQIA+ and women specific activities.
  • - Be supported to go on a course, learn a new skill or find a volunteering opportunity to build new habits and routine
  • - Get active and get in the outdoors with our regular walks, fitness classes and residentials.
  • - Have a medical assessment with one of our doctors and access detox, rehab and  treatment substitutes.
  • - Support to be safe and reduce harm, including safe injecting and tips on reducing substance use.
  • - Support for families and friends to empower you to look after yourself and connect with others.
  • - Targeted support for people affected by rough sleeping, in criminal justice system, parents and those who use substances and smoke.

Aaliyah recently reached out to us to get support with her binge drinking and party drugs. “The support and kindness I've received has been life changing. I learnt so much information about my habits and it gave me new perspective. They don't judge you here at all. What I've learnt has built confidence in all aspects of my life." - Aaliyah

Preventing Overdose

To help reduce drug-related deaths we provide free overdose response Naloxone kits to people at risk of an opioid overdose, their family and friends, and members of the public who could help prevent an overdose.

Naloxone is a medication that can quickly reverse the effects of an opioid overdose, including those related to heroin, methadone, morphine, buprenorphine, codeine and synthetic opioids, like nitazenes and fentanyl. Order yourself a kit through our Naloxone Click & Deliver service and help save lives.
