From struggles to success: Kenton's new chapter

Kenton had a long history of alcoholism, anxiety, and depression, which kept him out of work for more than ten years. Turning Point presented him with goals to help him achieve his ambition of running his own mobile food business.

After being alcohol-free for over six months, his DAWS keyworker referred him to ETE to set achievable goals.

With the help of ETE, Kenton took a business course, volunteered in a restaurant to gain experience, and learned to drive. Turning Point found a food business course offered by the Portobello Business Centre and applied for a £400 grant through Campden Charities. Kenton was referred to UR4Driving, where he began driving lessons and studied for the theory test, and SMART London, where he successfully completed his Level 2 Award in Food Safety. He now volunteers in their café, fulfilling the volunteering requirement of the UR4Driving scheme.

Thanks to Turning Point's support, Kenton was able to achieve his dream of running his own mobile food business.

"Turning Point helped me turn my life around. They supported me every step of the way as I worked towards my goal of running my own food business. I couldn't have done it without them."

I'm so grateful for Turning Point's help. They believed in me and helped me achieve my dream. I never thought I would be where I am today, and I owe it all to Turning Point."
