What Recovery Means at Turning Point
At Turning Point, we believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to recovery. People engage with support at different stages of readiness, with different goals and different experiences. That's why we work alongside people to identify what matters most to them and help them build the foundations for lasting change.
Our approach is built around:
- We meet people where they are.
- Support without judgement.
- Lived and living experience.
- Recognising that recovery happens in communities.
- We champion personalised recovery journeys.
Alongside recovery support, harm reduction remains a golden thread running through everything we do. We know that every safer step matters and that helping people stay safe, healthy and connected to support can be an important part of a person's recovery journey.
What We'll Be Focusing on During Recovery Month
Throughout September, we'll be sharing stories, resources, events and expert insight exploring four key campaign themes.
Week 1: Understanding Recovery
We'll explore what recovery really means, challenge common myths and misconceptions, and highlight why recovery looks different for everyone.
Week 2: Every Safer Step Matters
A focus on the role of harm reduction and informed choices, showing how harm reduction and recovery work hand in hand.
Week 3: Community, Hope and Action
Recovery doesn't happen in isolation. This week we'll celebrate the power of peer support, community connection, belonging and purpose.
Week 4: Real Stories. Real People.
Share lived experience stories from people across our services and communities, shining a light on the many ways recovery can transform lives.
