He sought support from Lincolnshire Recovery Partnership and with the support of his keyworker, gradually reduced his alcohol intake and was referred to the recovery team.
His experience inspired him to become a Peer Mentor Volunteer to support others going through the same, and due to the incredible progress he’s made, he recently joined the LRP team as a Recovery Connector.
Dan’s advice to anyone who wants to make a positive change to their relationship with alcohol is, “There is support out there, you’re not alone. People do care and you can do this. Recovery is a reality. It’s happened to me, and it can happen to anyone else.”
