Celebrating Excellence: Paul, Crisis Point

Paul, a dedicated recovery worker at Turning Point's Crisis Point mental health service in Manchester, has been recognised for his impressive initiative and quick thinking during a critical incident.

In October of the previous year, when a serious incident involving a guest occurred, Paul acted swiftly and confidently to prevent a potential tragedy. His rapid problem-solving, decision-making, and application of life-saving first aid until the paramedics arrived were deeply appreciated by both the paramedics and his co-workers.

He also recently secured funding from the Community Innovation Fund for a project that supported mindfulness, which gave service users a chance to learn new gardening skills.

Colleagues said the project was really well-received and perfectly showcased Paul’s passion for ensuring the best possible outcomes for the people the organisation supports.

“I am just a bit overwhelmed. I just want to thank everyone that nominated me. I’m really proud to be part of such an amazing team,” said Paul, after receiving our Inspired by Possibility Award after his incredible for his bravery.

Mark, service manager at Turning Point’s Crisis Point mental health service in Manchester, said:

“What you did last October, when you performed life-saving support on someone, will always stay with me. That, I can never forget. That was just a part of the incredible contribution you make around the service is incredible. You are such a valued member of our team.”
