Free and confidential support, so you can make informed choices
If you want to make changes, whether it’s to cut down, quit, gain control, or just to learn more about the risks and effects of taking drugs and alcohol we’re here to advise and guide.
Know the risks
We can chat to you about your alcohol and other drug use, what are you using, how much and how often. We’ll give you factual and up-to-date harm reduction information, so you can make the right choices for you.
If you do decide to use drink and use drugs, take it easy and follow our harm reduction advice:
- Start Low, Go Slow. Pace yourself if you are using any substances including alcohol.
- Leave the Mixing to the DJ. Avoid mixing drugs, including with alcohol. This can increase the risk of unwanted effects.
- Take Breaks and Stay Hydrated. Sip water but don’t drink over a pint an hour. Take breaks from dancing and give yourself time to cool down.
- Look After Your Mates. Don’t use alone, don’t leave anyone behind and arrange a meeting place in case anyone gets lost.
- Feeling Unwell, Seek Help. If anyone in your group is unwell, then seek appropriate medical help. In an emergency, call 999 and tell ambulance staff what they have taken.
Are you impacted by someone else's alcohol or other drug use?
If you are struggling to deal with the impact of another person’s substance use, a parent, sibling, or any significant person in their life, we will do whatever we can to help you make the best decisions.
