All Party Parliamentary Group on People with Complex Needs and Dual Diagnosis

Parliament

Turning Point acts as the secretariat for the All Party Parliamentary Group on People with Complex Needs and Dual Diagnosis. The group was established in recognition of the fact that people seeking help often have a number of over-lapping needs including problems around access to housing, unemployment services, mental health facilities or substance misuse support. In the majority of cases each service is administered by separate service providers. The result is that people with multiple or complex needs fall through the gaps in service provision.

Providers recognise that the best model for helping those individuals with a Dual Diagnosis of complex needs is through an integrated service that aims to address all of the issues they face. With this in mind the APPG on People with Complex Needs and Dual Diagnosis was established in 2007 and through its work we seek to ensure that this social issue remains on the political agenda and shapes future government policy.

The Group is co-chaired by Turning Point’s Chief Executive Lord Victor Adebowale and Conservative Member of Parliament David Burrowes.
