SPOT is Turning Point’s unique outcomes measuring tool designed to help staff ensure that an individual’s needs, wishes, goals and progress can be documented and evidenced effectively right from the start.
SPOT is unique because it:
- Links support planning to specific outcomes for people
- Links outcomes for the people we support to the performance of staff and Turning Point as a whole
- Links into our Client Information Management (CIM) system capturing and monitoring information on equality, diversity and demographics of the people we support
Turning Point employees work with the people we support, their families and carers to build the SPOT folder which includes benchmarking, recording aspirations, detailing steps to take and attributing timescales for each activity within an area of a person’s life.
The outcomes we use have been developed in line with the principles laid down by the REACH standards, In Control and BILD.
SPOT is a live document and every step towards a goal is evaluated with the individual to see what has worked well and what could be improved next time.
SPOT means there is a robust and meaningful plan in place for everybody we support, and goals and objectives are agreed with individuals and circles of support
- We use SPOT to provide evidence that the work we do is purposeful and that individuals are making progress towards their goals
- Each individual only has one plan in place, rather than a care plan and a person-centred plan. All plans are developed using the SPOT template
- Each person’s objectives are reflected in the workplans of the employees who support them. Turning Point performance is measured by our ability to support people to achieve outcomes
