Turning Point in Nesta ‘People Powered Health’ programme

News item posted: 17 March 2017

Turning Point's Earls Court Health and Wellbeing Centre was recently featured as part of a Nesta People Powered Health programme.

The programme was designed to support the design and delivery of innovative services for people living with long term health conditions and includes a range of short films and publications.

The Earl's Court Health and Wellbeing Centre, managed by Turning Point, offers a range of NHS services with a commitment to delivering care that goes beyond simply treating medical conditions, but also addresses physical, mental and social wellbeing. A number of staff and individuals involved with the Earls Court service were interviewed about the impact 'People Powered Health' has had on their life.

Nesta's People Powered Health programme ran over eighteen-months and involved teams from hospitals, GPs practices, community organisations and patients groups across England. Taking innovations that have been developed over many years - from peer support networks to expert patient groups, to group consultations and timebanking, they asked what would happen if these innovations became a normal part of everyday life.
