Turning Point appoints Robert McDonald as Head of Operations for Mental Health services

Turning Point has appointed Robert (Bob) Mc Donald as Head of Operations for Mental Health services.

Bob has worked in both clinical and managerial roles in the mental health field for over twenty five years including as Director, Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Executive in the third sector and in senior management in the NHS.

Bob is a qualified psychiatric nurse, with an MA in Enterprise Management and a postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership from Durham University. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management and holds a Chartered Manager accreditation.

Bob is committed to community involvement and empowering individuals to maximise their potential. He has been Chairman of South Tyneside FE College, first Chairman of the membership organisation 'Mental Health North East, a non-executive Director of Northumbria Probation Service, a non-executive Director of a multi-agency community interest company, a Director of a social enterprise and Chairman of South Tyneside adult and youth magistrates courts. He has also been a Special Constable reaching senior rank.
