In response to the report 'Police and Mental Health: How to get it right locally', Lord Victor Adebowale, Chief Executive of Turning Point and Chair of the Independent Commission on Mental Health and Policing said;

"This research which draws attention to how the police respond to those with mental health issues is welcome and complements the findings of the Independent Commission on Mental Health and Policing which published its report last year.

Our report found, without any doubt, that mental health is a core part of the day-to-day business of the police and needs to be treated as such. We need to change practices on the ground, not just for the police but for those working across the health and social care sector in relation to supporting those with mental health issues."
