Cheltenham Summer Open Day

News item posted: 25 July 2014

On Wednesday 6th August Turning Point's substance misuse service in Cheltenham, in partnership with Adult Education Gloucestershire, will be hosting an open day.

Turning Point Cheltenham is a drug and alcohol recovery service which offers a range of harm reduction and treatment options to individuals experiencing substance misuse issues as well as to their families or significant others.

At the open day Adult Education Gloucestershire will be running classes on jewellery making, cooking, woodwork, mosaic making, Arabic calligraphy and nail art. The aim is that the most popular classes will form regular groups which clients will be able to attend going forward. The day is open to all and is a chance for the local community as well as potential clients to come and find out more about the services offered by Turning Point in Cheltenham.

Jackie Howe, Recovery Worker at Turning Point in Cheltenham said;

"Sometimes the thought of accessing a drug and alcohol service can be a scary prospect. Substance misuse is not something to be ashamed of and it is important that people know where to seek advice and support. At Turning Point in Cheltenham we focus on recovery and creating opportunities for the people we support. We welcome anyone and would urge anyone who would like to find out more to come to our open day."

The Open Day will take place from 11am-4pm at Turning Point, Bramery House, Alstone Lane, Cheltenham, GL51 8HE. All are welcome to attend.
