Susan has a mild learning disability and mental health issues. She lived at our Hagden Lane centre for 2 years, Susan now shares a house with Sarah. Previously Susan lived in various learning disability services, some were in large hospital settings. We asked Susan where she used to live, she said, "it was like a prison, I didn't like it." And what did she think of Turning Point? "It's the best place I have lived - the staff help me here.

We've been supporting Westley, who has a profound learning disability, for over five years. Westley is a wheelchair user this can restrict his adventurous ambitions. Our Kent team have worked to fulfill some of these, by finding somewhere that Westley could abseil - something no one thought would be possible.

Our support has also allowed Westley to live in his own home and have more say over his environment. This has had a noticeable impact on his communication and behaviour skills - resulting in Westley enjoying his first family Christmas at home and his first holiday away.
