Connected Education

Connected Education is a model that helps improve engagement between schools and families. Our aim is to increase parental interest and involvement in their local schools as a means of encouraging learning and improving behaviour.

The Connected Education model works in two stages:

Stage One

We encourage parents, young people and practitioners to identify and explore issues and solutions. We then provide thorough analysis and feedback to enable these groups to reflect upon current practices and plan for improvements that will make a difference to the school and the pupils.

Stage Two

We build on our research, bringing schools and parents together, to set up financially self-sustaining partnership projects.

Evidence shows that there are significant benefits to parents becoming more involved in their child's learning, such as:

  • Higher pupil attainment and aspirations
  • Improved literacy and communication skills
  • Better attendance
  • Lower levels of exclusion
  • Fewer instances of disruptive behaviour
  • Stronger parent peer support networks.
