Cheshire West and Chester Young People's Service

Turning Point’s Substance Misuse Service operates across the whole of Cheshire West and Chester supporting Young People under 18 years of age.

What we do

Our dedicated recovery and support workers operate out of hubs across the county and provide a community based service offering confidential specialist one-to-one support at schools, children’s centres and GP surgeries.

If you are someone who would like support or you know a Young Person who would like a referral into Turning Point or would like further information about our service please contact us via email or phone.  We have a simple referral form which can be filled in and emailed back to the service and we accept referrals from school, partner agencies, GPs and parents.  If you are a Young Person wanting support you can self-refer into our service; just call us or email us and will make contact with you within 5 working days.

Our services include

  • Specialist Targeted Interventions
  • Education, Harm Reduction, Advice and Guidance
  • One-to-One Key Working Sessions
  • Psychosocial interventions
  • Multi agency care planning
  • Access to Specialist Medical Support

We have recently launched a screening tool which professionals can access on the Cheshire West and Chester Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) website as part of the ‘Multi Agency Toolkit’.  Please follow this link to access the LSCB website and you will find our tool at the bottom of the Toolkit http://cheshirewestlscb.org.uk/professionals/

This screening tool aims to improve access for young people to substance misuse services.  We want to be able to support our partners in carrying out initial screening, understanding the pathways and referring into the most appropriate support. The screening tool is designed to assist you in taking the most appropriate action on behalf of the young person.
